PCB Announces Women’s Squad for West Indies Series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 20-player probable squad for the upcoming series against West Indies women, set to take place from April 18th to May 3rd at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. Led by Saleem Jaffar, the selection committee carefully considered players’ recent performances in both domestic and international cricket to finalize the squad.

Key inclusions in the squad are Ayesha Zafar, Rameen Shamim, and Sidra Nawaz, who have consistently demonstrated their form in recent domestic matches. However, notable absentees from the squad are Omaima Sohail and Shawaal Zulfiqar, who are still recovering from injuries.

Saleem Jaffar emphasized the significance of this series for Pakistan’s standing in the ICC Women’s Championship. To prepare for the series, the squad will undergo a rigorous seven-day training camp in Karachi, commencing on April 2nd.

The squad comprises a talented lineup of players including Aliya Riaz, Bismah Maroof, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Ghulam Fatima, Gul Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi (wk), Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Nida Dar, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz (wk), Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

The series against West Indies women will consist of three ODIs and five T20Is, all of which will be hosted at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. The schedule for the series is as follows:

April 14th: Arrival of the West Indies women’s team in Karachi
April 18th, 21st, and 23rd: ODIs at National Bank Stadium, Karachi (3:30 pm)
April 26th, 28th, 30th, May 2nd, and 3rd: T20Is at National Bank Stadium, Karachi (7:30 pm)
