6 Types Of People Whose Duas Are Accepted By Allah Almighty In The Light Of Islam

From Allah Almighty’s unlimited blessings, dua or supplication is considered as the worthiest one. According to different Islamic scholars, ablution (wudhu) isn’t necessary for supplication, the only thing which you want is purity and sincerity. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said once that,

“Whenever a Muslim supplicates Allah, He accepts his supplication or averts any similar kind of trouble from him until he prays for something sinful or something that may break the ties of kinship.”  – Tirmidhi, Book 17, Hadith 37

In various hadiths, it has been mentioned that the supplications on a certain time, by some person or at a sacred place are accepted by Almighty Allah in no time. Here are a few hadiths quoted below in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has told us about those people.

1. Supplication Of One Who Has Been Wronged, Father For His Children And Traveller

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “There are three supplications that will undoubtedly be answered: the supplication of one who has been wronged; the supplication of the traveler; and the supplication of a father for his child.” – Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 34, Hadith 36

2. Supplication Of A Muslim For His Brother In His Absence

Abud-Darda’ (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The supplication of a Muslim for his (Muslim) brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Every time he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: ‘Ameen! May it is for you, too’.” – Sahih Muslim, Book 17, Hadith 31

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “There are five supplications that are responded to; the supplication of a wronged one until he is made satisfied, the supplication of a hajji until he comes back home, the supplication of a warrior in the way of Allah until he comes back home, the supplication of a sick one until he recovers, and the supplication of a brother secretly for his brother; and the promptest of these supplications in being answered is the supplication of a brother secretly for his brother.” – Shu’ab al-Eeman, vol. 2 p. 46.

It was narrated that ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (RA) said: The Prophet (PBUH) said to me: ‘When you enter upon one who is sick, tell him to pray for you, for his supplication is like the supplication of the angels.’ – Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 1, Book 6, Hadith 1441

5. Dua Of A Person Who Is Fasting

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: There are three whose supplications are not turned back: A just ruler, and a fasting person until he breaks his fast. And, the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, ‘By My Might, I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is after a while.’ – Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1752

6. Dua Of An Oppressed Person

It is reported on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) that Mu’adh said: Beware of the supplication of the oppressed for there is no barrier between him and Allah.  – Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 29
