They say that the blood is thicker than water. They also say that no matter what happens, family comes first. But what do you do when your own family leaves you like you mean nothing to them?

Meet 67-Year-Old Asfa Naseem – Left by her Own Brother to Die!

Her entire life, Asfa worked as a government employee in the education sector of Pakistan. Due to her knee problem, Asfa had to take an early retirement so she may rest and focus on her physical well-being. Her knee problem grew more – she now has severe joint pains, urinary bladder problem and also experiences hearing problems.

Little did she know she wouldn’t have anyone to support her during her sickness.

One month ago, Asfa was left outside Critters Ark Welfare Organization in Pindi. The foster is solely for critters, but her brother, who decided to abandon her, thought of this as the only solution.

Because Asfa’s treatment got too much for her brother to handle and because his wife wanted Asfa gone, he dropped her off the critter center. This wasn’t the first time he tried to get rid of Asfa – a while back, the brother dropped her off to a trust in Pindi but because her medical expenses were too much, they got rid of Asfa as well.

“Keep her like you keep rescued animals or leave her at a graveyard where she may die of hunger.” – said Asfa’s brother when he dropped her off at the animal center where she currently resides.

The Critters Ark Welfare Organization is doing their best to support and help Asfa – they are not only giving her a shelter, but also provide her with pampers, medication and support her medical treatment financially as well.
