You being ‘Moti or Healthy’ should not Bother Society in Any way!

In this society, we see many people being body shamed. I, like most people, see it on a daily basis. Body shaming happens in our schools, colleges, homes, neighborhoods, and particularly via web-based networking media, for example; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and many different platforms. Body shaming is ridiculing one’s appearance, physically by giving remarks or inwardly. It is done by individuals of any age and all ages can be casualties of it.

Body shaming is a terrible thing with disturbing results. I know this because I know how it feels like. My experience with body shaming has had very negative effects on me. I felt worthless like I was nothing. I would cry almost every night because of how ugly and fat I felt. I felt this way mainly because this is what my friends, family and other people I know or I don’t know told me.

Every day I would try new diet plans, ask my amma for desi totkay because I was so obsessed with the idea of being skinny and beautiful because that’s what the society told me. I actually used to starve myself to get to the definition of  “Slim And Beautiful”.

  • Walk shalk start karo (Start walking).
  • Oats khaya karo (Eat oats).
  • Gym nahi join kia hua? Chalo papers k baad krlena (Haven’t joined a gym? Okay, do it after your exams
    ).
  • Thora ziada weight gain ni karlia (Gained a little too much weight, no?)?

No matter how you are: fat or a little chubby, curvy, skinny, or whatever color you are, frustrated people everywhere will make fun of you. ALWAYS.

They will try to bring you down. They will try to shatter your confidence because they know that they are not good as much as you are. So, basically what they do is to make fun of you, they try to humiliate you to get rid of the frustration and their inferiority complex.

But the day you start loving yourself, nothing will affect you. You should be aware of the fact that they only make fun of you that they are jealous of you. Everyone is special and so are you. I am beautiful in my own way. Everyone’s beautiful in their own way. So, pay no heed to such comments and love yourself. At the end of the day, it’s always about you.
