Pakistan Super League’s third edition lit fired yesterday. The opening ceremony was as awesome as the cricket fanatics hoped for. With amazing music performances by Abida Parveen, Shehzad Roy, and Jason Derulo, the ceremony was wrapped up with a phenomenal display of fireworks at the Dubai stadium.
However, Pakistanis were a tad bit disappointed with the hosts of the evening – Hareem Farooq and Bilal Ashraf!

While their hosting skills were not much appealing, given how they were hosting a massive crowd perhaps for the first time, Pakistanis continued showing their disappointment.

Another Thing That Caught Everybody’s Attention, Aside from the Hosting Skills Was Hareem Farooq’s Dress
She was dressed in a very desi frock for the evening, making sure everybody knew it was a Pakistani function. One may say that all she was trying to do was promote the culture, but Pakistanis felt that the Parchi actress was extremely overdressed.

What is it with subcontinental female celebs and all these fancy bridal clothes full of more chamak damak than all the lights in the stadium? Do they actually think these heavily embellished clothes look good on anyone other than a bride?

There’s a thing which needs to be applauded here – Hareem went for a desi attire while most of the Pakistani hosts would’ve worn a Western dress at the ceremony, given the previous records of how they’ve hosted the event.
One could agree or disagree with the sort of dress she was wearing, but need to give Hareem credit for going the desi way, knowing how Pakistani lack the enthusiasm to promote their own culture on such events.
Kudos, Hareem Farooq. Keep slayin!
