There are many countries which have the issue of harassment at hand. But it’s sad and shameful that Pakistan is one of those countries where women getting harassed is a common thing. Every day, in this peaceful motherland, numerous cases are reported regarding several sorts of harassment but no one is allowed to speak about it, as it’s a hush-hush affair.
Even the internet is not safe here as cyber harassment is yet another torture, not only for the mango people but also for celebrities. Humaima Malick, who is not only an amazing actress but also an ambassador of peace and feminism is also disturbed by cyberbullying/cyber harassment.
OUTSTANDING EFFORT BY HUMAIMA MALICK
The actress recently broke silence on facing harassment as she strongly believes that other women should speak over this as well. “Yes, it’s true – I have been facing cyberbullying for the past four months. Not talking about these issues would someday completely silence the voice of the harassed. It’s about time we all stand up and battle out these forms of violence”.
Discussing the issue, the star asserted, “I’ve been receiving threats for months now and it’s time that such harassers get called out openly in public. They shouldn’t be masked and we can’t let these noxious villains get away with harassment.” said Humaima.
VIOLENCE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
It’s been long since she has been part of the Pakistani industry but along with everything good, she has talked about how torturous it is to deal with it. “The experience has been mentally tormenting. These cyberbullies have gone to an extent of disrupting my personal everyday-life activities – casting sleazy innuendoes whenever wherever given a chance. There has to be an end to this torture.”
CONTINOUS STRUGGLE OF WOMEN OF OUR FREE SOCIETY
WAY TO GO GIRL
Humaima, being a celebrity, considers it her responsibility to speak over such issues for the awareness of many others who prefer to stay silent. She said, “If we don’t stand up now, then who will? Being human, I’m aware of my responsibilities towards myself, towards my society and industry as an artist, and towards my family as a daughter. I will not stay silent anymore.”
PROUD FEMINIST SHE IS
She, for sure, would have encouraged many to talk about this taboo as it is our mistake for letting those ruthless people roam around freely after spoiling our lives. It is the time that we raise our voice against all those bastards and bring them to justice.
