Pakistan’s Most Influential People Are Celebrating Women’s Day With Their Heartfelt Messages And It’s Beautiful!

March 8th is International Women’s Day which celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women throughout the world. Some renowned people took time out and turned to Twitter to recognize important women in their lives and share their thoughts about the day.

Now, because we are so amazingly awesome, we as women don’t need a designated day to celebrate strength and courage. Nevertheless, it’s nice to have a day that appreciates the efforts and achievements of women!

Imran Khan took time to appreciate Fatima Jinnah and the PM tweeted “On Women’s Day, we pay tribute to Fatima Jinnah who stood steadfastly beside the Quaid in his struggle for Pakistan. We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring women a secure & enabling environment to play their rightful role in our nation’s development.”

On the other hand, the chairperson of PPP -Bilawal Bhutto also wished his mother and in a heartfelt message, he wrote, “On I pay tribute to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. The 1st female PM in the Muslim world. Who battled extremism, authoritarianism & patriarchy for 30yrs of political life. We will build a progressive #pakistan, a feminist Pakistan & a Benazir Pakistan in her memory.

The Federal Minister of Human Rights, Shireen Mazari penned down her thoughts by tweeting, “International Women Day today not only celebrates womanhood but also highlights the road women still have to traverse in society to reach the goal of empowerment. We are moving forward at the level of the state/govt but it is mindsets that we also have to change.”

Asad Umer who is the current Finance Minister of Pakistan wrote: “On this international women’s day lets remember that Pakistan cannot be the prosperous and peaceful country we want it to be unless women who are more than half the country are given the chance to live their life’s to their full potential.”

British Pakistani journalist and the former wife of PM Imran Khan took Twitter to express her views on Women’s Day and stated, “I march every day of my life for all those women who were silenced by the men around them. For my daughters & those of others to know that you were given a voice to use it. Be loud be heard.”

Journalist Hamid Mir also partook and said that without the success of women no nation can become a success story!

Moreover, The Nobel Prize took a step forward and wished the female education activist Malala Yousufzai on Women’s Day.

Parliamentary Leader PPP Sherry Rehman shared her thoughts on Women’s Day saying that we as women have a long way to go!

This International Women’s Day, let’s remind all the little girls that it’s not about being princesses, and damsels in distress. Let’s tell them instead that they should foster to be literary legends, doctors, lawyers, painters, and dreamers. Let’s teach them to be believers in themselves as opposed to believers in happily ever afters and to show them how they can achieve their dreams, we will show them all the beautiful, inspirational women Pakistan has!
