Here’s Everything You Wanted to Ask from the Popular Instagram Bloggers: The Nerd Twins

If you’ve spent any amount of time on Instagram recently, you’ve probably come across two travel blogs by the names of @globewanderess and @miss.jetlagged. No? Well, you have definitely come across @thenerdtwins.

These rising Instagram blogs, which are rapidly growing, are run by Tuba and Aqsa Sajjad. They travel solo, read lots of books and seem to be living the good life, wouldn’t you agree? We decided to sit with them and ask them everything you’ve ever wanted to ask them!

1. Solo traveling

1) Many people seem to believe that you guys travel together, which isn’t solo travel. What’s the deal?

Aqsa: That’s something we get asked a lot. We have only ever traveled to one country together. Other than that, we have always traveled solo.

2) That’s great! But it makes us wonder… why do you like to travel all alone?

Tuba: I don’t mind traveling with friends or family, but there’s hardly ever anyone available to come along, so I go solo. But in the future, I’d love to have travel partners for some of my adventures. Travelling solo is a lot of fun, but sharing it with friends can be a wonderful experience too.

3) Agreed! You guys are still in university so there has been a lot of ambivalence about how you fund your travels so… how do you do it?

Aqsa: Blogging and freelancing. I know for a fact that several people find it hard to believe that we fund our own travels, but we do! The ambivalence is the very reason I want to promote more traveling in Pakistan.

4) People will always be surprised when you do something different! Blogging is still relatively new in Pakistan. How do hotels and travel agencies contact you for collaborations?

Tuba: They’re always on the lookout for bloggers who are willing to collaborate with them. It’s not difficult for them to find us (or for us to find them).

5) How many of the offers you receive do you accept?

Aqsa: It’s about 50-50. We accept some, reject some. It’s very important to stay true to your blog and following. Usually, if the offers are completely off theme, we reject them.

6) Any funny example of an offer you received that was completely off theme?

Aqsa: We were contacted by a rishta group once. It was rather ridiculous.

7) Wow! That’s crazy! So we love the names of your travel blogs: @globewanderess and @miss.jetlagged. So creative! How did you come up with them?

Tuba: I don’t really remember. Do you remember how we came up with them?

Aqsa: Nope, I can’t recall either.

8) Understandable! Do you guys plan on sharing detailed travel knowledge with your followers in the future? A lot of them would like to know how to earn through blogging and how to essentially turn blogging into a career. It’s no secret that bloggers make good money!

Aqsa: Yes, absolutely. We do have plans to share our knowledge with our followers in the future—very soon, actually.

2. The Twin Life

1) Moving on to your combined blog, @thenerdtwins. People are loving everything on there, from book recommendations to twin stories! What are the most common questions you get asked as twins?

Aqsa: I think that would be comparison questions… questions about the smarter twin, outgoing twin, funnier twin. And that can be quite frustrating because it doesn’t have to be relative.

2) Agreed! So who can read faster? Just kidding, just kidding! What is the one twin question you get asked that you find particularly annoying?

Tuba: That would be ‘what’s it like constantly being around another person who is exactly the same as you’? Because of, first of all, we’re not constantly around each other. And second, we’re not exactly the same.

3) Very true! Do you often take advantage of the fact that you can easily pass as each other?

Aqsa: When we were children, we did it quite often. But now… no, not anymore. People who know us can easily tell us apart. So I doubt it would work, even if we tried.

4) Did you guys ever expect your blogs to grow so much and so fast?

Tuba: No. It’s wonderful and heartwarming that people want to follow us and are interested in our blogs, but when we started them, we just did so because we love books and traveling.

5) Any exciting projects that you’re working on at the moment?

Aqsa: Yes, but you’ll have to wait for the right time to find out what they are!

6) We’re looking forward to it! Lastly, do you have any message for our readers?

Tuba: Yes. To all of you, we hope you read lots of books, travel the world and follow your heart. And if you ever need inspiration or motivation, head over to our blogs and drop us a message!

We are loving these twins. Are you? Let us know in the comments below!
