Meesha Shafi shook the entire social media in the recent days. No one has ever had the courage or strength in the entertainment industry to speak under the #MeToo movement the way Meesha Shafi did. Accusing her co-star Ali Zafar of sexual harassment, the actress and singer gave strength to a number of women to come forward as well.
Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo pic.twitter.com/iwex7e1NLZ

She received a lot of hate and love for standing up. Some said this was all for publicity, while others came forward with similar claims regarding Ali Zafar, who has since then remained quiet after making just one statement.
Meesha, on the other hand, continues to remain stern on the claims she made regarding the singer and actor Ali Zafar. However, what hurts the most is the amount of hate and negativity the singer continues to get.
On Whatever Meesha Shafi Posts, People Start Bashing Her
And it just insane.
She shared a tweet on how Pakistani celebs are coming forward with #MeToo claims and stories

So Someone Who Had Less Knowledge and Total Facts Wrong Tried to Bring Meesha Shafi’s Family!
He made incorrect claims while questioning Meesha Shafi.
Just a thought! When your Nana A Hameed used to do ishq about every beautiful girl he will see; was it a sexual harassment or not? N.B A hameed is Saba hameed’s father

First, Saba Hamid Came in the Matter and Corrected the Man Who Had his Knowledge All Wrong
Get your facts right, my father was hamid Akhtar a journalist not A Hameed the writer.

And The Meesha Shafi Also Made Sure to Set him Right
A quick google search would’ve taken less time than this badly phrased, incorrect tweet. Don’t know why I’m dignifying this with a response, but here.. let me help..https://t.co/UlOus6cM7Q https://t.co/zHLFVmo4cE

Strange to see how everytime Meesha Shafi talks about something, someone tries to bring her claims regarding the sexual harassment case she made against Ali Zafar. People will blame anyone, but the culprit in the matter. They keep questioning Meesha Shafi, but does anyone question Ali Zafar? Hard to tell.
All the best wishes and courage to Meesha Shafi who will continue hearing this until she proves her side of the story. Sad to see that as a society, we have narrowed down the claims of a victim to “proof” only.
