I remember how Roma had been by my side throughout as I with a heavy heart, packed away my apartment in preparation to return to Canada. Roma had a knack for stopping mid-way in conversation or while working and giving me blessings in the form of heartfelt prayers; I couldn’t at any cost lose that form of love. On the last day when I bid her good-bye, I gave her my ‘chador’ which I would use to pray salah and told her that whenever she would perform her salah, this ‘chador’ would remind her to pray for me.
