The adventurous wedding location

Now don’t get us wrong. Although, the idea of destination weddings isn’t entirely odd. This one seems a tad bit risky; and in all honesty, it was.  From the weather conditions on the world’s tallest mountain peak to social issues.

As she had dreamed of having to celebrate this beautiful occasion with her husband. They couldn’t do so. As the happily married couple reached Skardu; they received a call that her father in law isn’t well. Thus, her husband had to return to the UK immediately.

Although she suggested that they cancel the trip and return home, her husband to the UK, and she back to Dubai, her husband convinced her to go ahead without him. So with a heavy and muddled heart, the poor girl carried on with her trip alone to K2 base.

Naila Kiyani mentions, “It was bitter-sweet. I went on my lifelong dream of K2 trek, but I didn’t have my husband alongside as I had imagined. And worse, due to no signals, I could not keep in touch with him either.  In short, it didn’t turn out how I imagined it to be, but I did get my wedding dress photos with K2 in the background.”

?? ? @naila._.kiani I never wanted a big pompous wedding celebration, but as an ardent mountain girl, I only dreamt of one thing: a small wedding celebration at K2 basecamp and a photoshoot in a wedding dress at K2! ⁣ After my small nikah ceremony, I was supposed to realise this dream with my husband beside me. But, when we reached Skardu, we got to know that my father-in-law back in the UK is not well, and my husband would have to rush back home while I would return to Dubai. We would have to cancel our trip altogether! ⁣However, my husband convinced me not to cancel my plan and go ahead with the group as I was not going to the UK anyway. So, with a heavy heart, I trudged along. It was bitter-sweet: I went on my life long dream of K2 trek, but I didn’t have my husband alongside, like I had imagined. And worse, due to no signals, I could not keep in touch with him either. ⁣ In short, it didn’t turn out how i imagined it to be, but I did get my wedding dress photos with K2 in the background. 0n the 'shaadi' day, i quietly sneaked out of my tent when most of the people at Concordia were resting in their tents. I thought I would get some alone time to get my photos taken. Only after clicking a handful photos, the news spread like fire that there is a shaadi happening and a bride is outside (nobody cared about dulha not being there lol). Within minutes porters, rest of the staff, other trekkers came along and singing and dancing started. I felt so many emotions at the same time, happy to see everyone else celebrating, embarrassed and nervous for being the centre of attention and focus of all cameras and sad as i missed my husband a lot every moment during the trek. Although I was super embarrassed that day and i hardly got the photos i wanted but i will be forever grateful to these superhumans called porters who gave me some amazing memories to cherish.

Not only did she get a photoshoot at the peak of the mountains, rather, she also got to spend a great time with so many new friends. And how can one forget the beautiful and mesmerizing view?

In the end, surely a supportive and loving partner who trusts you can make you touch the mountains. In Naila’s case that is literally the situation. Not only did she get her dream wedding photoshoot, but a thousand more memories that she will cherish and adore for the rest of her life with her husband.
