A couple of months ago, the world encountered an appalling incident of Islamophobia with a Muslim girl in London. Resham Khan, a student, shared series of Tweets by Resham regarding the attack on her and her cousin Jameel Mukhtar in East London became the word of mouth and circulated everywhere.

People came out in support for her and expressed their sincerest resentment and compassion over what happened to her and her cousin. The world reflects upon this shocking incident as “hate crime” against a specific race. Many speculations suggest it was due to the outraged and epidemical Islamophobia succumbed to the minds of some people in the West.

Resham was worried that the devastating injuries her skin succumbed due to the attack would never leave her face. However, it turned out to be really better and she looks stunning in that dress! This is a strong sign of bravery that this girl portrayed and never let the setback act as a barrier in her life. We appreciate her for sharing those pictures because it is the update we all were waiting for!

Acid attacks on women are a grave dilemma in our society especially. Thousands of women have been the victims and it has changed their lives, their perspectives and instilled a tremendous amount of fear in them. But this girl, Resham Khan, sets a strong example out there for all the women who have suffered and continue to suffer.
