This Pakistani Girl Shares How She Was Saved By A Christian Cab Driver During Rough Times Of Karachi

So, this year alone we heard so much about these cab services. Some good thing some bad things but yeah, worse than good. Because bad things spread more than the good. So much happened that the government recently decided to put these cab services to an end.

Many girls reported cases of attempted kidnapping. Just in the fraction of one month, people were scared to travel through either of the cab services. After all who would want to put their life at risk, when all you expect is a smooth and safe ride.

But what this girl shared in the time when the country’s situation was depressing and everyone was going through a really bad time. She told her tale of when she took a ride with a Careem captain and this was the time when people were having a hard time getting a ride booked. Many roads of the city were blocked including Shahra e Faisal but this captain took the risk of going…

This is what she said:

“After 3 canceled rides, I finally found a Careem Captain who was willing to take me to Shahra-e-Faisal knowing the risk today.

As soon as I sat in the car, I asked him if he’s okay to travel to the other side. His response, ‘Baaji, koi masla nahi. Le jao ga.’

And then he removed the cross hanging from the rear view mirror, kissed it and hid it. He was a Christian. And he didn’t feel safe on the road. Yet, he was willing to make me reach my office safely.

Thank you, Captain Hamid Gill.

I feel so ashamed. And proud. And ashamed.”

When she shared this, people saw that the same girl was actually an employee of Careem; that the story is fabricated to gain some point

People bashed Careem for cashing on at such a critical situation of the country. They belittled the girl and the company, even they started abusing her on the status that she wrote.

After which she edited the post and adding some more info about the authentication of the ride and the captain in question

She shared the screenshot of the ride; where the location, time, date, and the captain’s name was written on it.

This is status after she edited it:

“EDIT: Everyone, please relax and don’t always try to find negativity in good things. The post is still there – I had changed the settings to Friends only due to silly comments and abuses by certain people.

Yes, I work with Careem and that’s nothing to hide with my Facebook and LinkedIn title saying the same.

This incident happened with me while I was using Careem as a customer. It left me speechless, it was so touching so I shared it through my personal profile. It happened. Yes, good things happen. Please let that sink in.

We have reached out to the Captain and thanked him personally too. For the ones who want actual proof – the ride receipt is attached.

This story by no means meant to promote Careem. It was a beautiful story of one human helping another. Let’s that just respect that and refrain from any speculations. Thank you.”

Let’s not overlook the good things, yes, as she said good things and we better should learn to embrace and appreciate this. Also, learn to co-exist and tolerate. Cheers. 😉
