Yesterday, a father shared his daughter’s story on Facebook in which he said how the school teacher punished her for not ‘removing henna’ from hands. According to the father, the teacher isn’t allowing his daughter to participate in the assembly until she removes henna from her hands. ‘I have no option than to cut-off her hands from her body as I am unable to remove the henna from those small and sensitive hands’ said the father of the minor.

I need your views. My 6 years old daughter, a student of class 1 is being punished on daily basis due to henna (mehndi) color on her hands which she put on 11th Rabiul Awwal.

Punishment:
* No participation is assembly, she keeps standing the other side while the other students sit.
* Mental harassment by scolding her before joining the class
* No breaks
* Daily notice verbally and on-diary both.

When she comes back to home, she doesn’t share with us and her face impression is totally change when we see the diary and she starts weeping that she don’t wanna go to school the same school next day. I have no option to cut-off her hands from her body as I am unable to remove the henna from those small and sensitive hands. Please suggest me what should I do?? I’m attaching a picture after second-day punishment and notice. #schools #Karachi #Pakistan #PSA

People on social media criticize the school for such punishment. The parents want the affected father to file a torture case against the Principal of the school or at least share the details of the school. On the other hand, some people are showing their concern over the ruling of the school. According to them, many schools strictly forbid their students from any adornments like henna, nail paints or even earrings and maybe the school in which his daughter is studying has also forbidden the students from applying henna on hands.

Let’s see if the school respond to the whole matter or the father share the details of the school so that people could get the complete picture!
