The crime rate in Pakistan only rises and it’s sad that when comes to hospitals that are supposed to be our saviors and a safe haven for us become the places where many people end up drawing their last breath due to the carelessness of the hospital staff.

Police, on Saturday, claimed to have resolved the mystery of a model girl Rubab Shafiq’s passing, who was found in a local cemetery two weeks ago. The incident took place in Karachi’s western region of Mochko which borders Balochistan province.

According to Police, Ms. Shafiq drew her last breath at a local clinic while undergoing the procedure of terminating her baby. The clinic staff panicked at her passing and threw her in a nearby cemetery in the dark of the night, said the police.

During the autopsy, police found no outward marks signaling to agony, however, one of her hand had seven while others had nine marks of injections.

Her body was taken to Civil Hospital for legal formalities and later transferred to a morgue to be identified by her relatives. Rubab’s brother Javed Shafiq confirmed that it was his sister. He later recorded a statement to police.

He said that his sister had been missing since the day she left home to go shopping for her cousin’s wedding ceremony. Javed also told the police that they did not have any issues with anyone but he spoke about some people who were associated with his sister.

On Saturday, police arrested the nurse and her assistant who operated Ms. Shafiq for the procedure of terminating her baby. According to the police, the duo has confirmed the series of events that took place. A First Information Report (FIR) lodged at the Mochko Police Station named three including a man named Umar.
