When a desi girl is about to tie the knot, first we see ‘pre-wedding shenanigans’ which includes the mayyo, dholkiyan, bridal shower, dance preps, and whatnot.
After the wedding comes the countless number of pictures shared on Instagram and Facebook – the couple holding hands outside the masjid where their nikkah took place, the couple caught in pretending-candid-moment pictures and finally, one picture of the bride crying shared with the caption of, “missing you mama and papa. While these are just a few pointers, someone shared an entire list of how the marriage starter for a Pakistani girl REALLY begins while seeing the social media.

1: Change In Her Surname
A different surname on Facebook which is unrecognizable by any of her friends in her friend list and all of them have to scroll through her profile to understand who she is.
2: Change In Her Facebook Cover Photo
A cover photo of holding hands with husband. Caption “MashAllah” so no other woman puts an evil eye on her hubby’s hairy hand.
3: No More Selfies!
All the pictures and selfies from Facebook slowly removed & replaced by pictures of Khana Kaaba, Alhamdulillah, or Muslim couple holding hands in front of Bait Allah during Hajj.
4: ‘Rights Of The Wife’
Status sharing of “Rights of the wife in Islam”.
5: Feeling Blessed With Two Others!
After a year of disappearance from social media, a sudden post emerging “BLESSED WITH A BABY BOY/GIRL” (Feeling blessed with -inserts husband’s name)
6: #IMadeIt Posts
Posts about homemade food with MADE BY ME hashtag.
7: From Mother To Mother-in-Law
Pictures of Saas instead of her mother on Mother’s day.
8: From Father To Father-in-Law
Pictures of Sasur instead of Father on Father’s day.

Selfies of her kids. Stories of kids doing nothing.
