A 1st year female student at Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) in Lahore was allegedly assaulted by a security guard, sparking protests on Monday. FIR has not been registered yet, as the student’s family has not filed a formal complaint.
The protests began at Campus 10 and spread to Campus 16 near Hafeez Centre. Students carried banners, demanding justice and promising to continue protesting until authorities addressed the issue. Clashes with the police injured several students, and rescuers took one seriously injured student to the hospital.

Protesters then marched to the Muslim Town area, where they accused the college administration and police of withholding information. Police arrested several students and transferred them to local stations to manage the unrest.
Media reports say the incident occurred in the basement of Campus 10. Police arrested the security guard involved but continued searching for the student, whose identity remains unknown.
Authorities suspended the registration of Punjab College for Women indefinitely. However, the college administration denied the allegations, stating that no official reports have been made. They assured that they are fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure a fair investigation. The student has sadly passed away.
