Supreme Court Protects Women’s Inheritance Rights in Key Decision

The Supreme Court ruled that women’s inheritance rights must be protected, stressing that many women are unjustly denied their rightful share. Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa wrote the decision, highlighting how some lawyers help in withholding these rights.

The court imposed a 300,000 rupee fine on anyone filing false cases to deny women their inheritance. This fine will go to the sisters who were wrongfully deprived of their rightful share.
