TV anchor Ayesha Jahanzeb is the latest victim of domestic violence, abused at gunpoint by her husband, Haris. After receiving medical attention Ayesha lodged an FIR against her husband over an ‘attempt to murder’. Moreover, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has called for strict action.
While the world still faces the threat of gender violence, Pakistan ranks far higher. Aysha’s husband, Haris abused her at gunpoint. The incident took place at her residence in Lahore. After receiving medical attention Aysha lodged an FIR over an attempt to murder.

Furthermore, the police had reached to Lahore magistrate. Two-day physical remand has been placed for Haris.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the incident. Furthermore, Maryam has order police to provide full security to the victim.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz has asserted, “Women are my red line; violence against domestic or working women will not be tolerated”
