UK Jail Sentence for Pakistani Family’s Abuse of Daughter-in-law

A Pakistani family residing in the UK has been sentenced to over seven years in jail for the mental and physical torture of their daughter-in-law, Ambreen Fatima Sheikh. Asgar Sheikh, 31, along with his father Khalid, 55, and mother Shabnam, 52, faced charges of allowing a vulnerable adult to suffer harm. Ambreen Fatima Sheikh, who hails from Pakistan, experienced life-limiting injuries due to the abuse inflicted by her in-laws. The court revealed that the family was dissatisfied with Ambreen’s housework, leading to severe mistreatment. Ambreen, subjected to forced medication and corrosive substances, suffered irreversible brain damage, rendering her in a deep unconscious state.
