Day 4 after the release of the song and people still cannot believe how poor of a job Coke Studio did with a number of songs, including the season finale, Ko Ko Korina.
(Personally believe people are exaggerating a bit too much but ok)
Anyway, So Many Were Seen Tweeting Negatively About the Song
Mubarshir Lucman Said It
Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari Couldn’t Hold Back Either
HSY Tried to Put Sense By Sharing His Point of View
And Pakistanis Overall Tou Nahi Khush the Bus
Much of the backlash goes to the fact how Ko Ko Korina is a legendary song, originally sung by the legendary singer, Waheed Murad
In Case You Want to Refresh Your Memory, Here’s the Original Masterpiece
While Waheed Murad isn’t here anymore to comment on the song, his son, Adil Murad felt the need to apologise to the fans and comment on the awful job Coke Studio did with the song.
In A Post He Made On Facebook, Adil Murad Apologised to All the Waheed Murad Fans On Allowing Coke Studio to Do Their Version of the Track
In a brief post, he also called Coke Studio directors ‘idiots’ for ruining the song. Here’s what he wrote:
I profusely apologize to all Waheed Murad fans for allowing #cokestudio to remake or should I say ‘ruin’ the classic ‘ko ko korina’ (pro bono). I trusted the coke studio brand but I guess it is now completely run by IDIOTS! RIP #cokestudio.
It seems Coke Studio took consent of Adil Murad before covering Ko Ko Korina, which is why he feels the need of apologising to the locals.
Anyway, let’s just get over it. It is the world of music and not every song is perfect. If you want to enjoy good music, listen to the Ko Ko Korina shared above and let’s all just move on.
