The ongoing case of Khadija which got a lot of media coverage this year for all the years of her battle! Around 2 years back, when Khadija had faced brutality by her own classmate in broad daylight, people just saw what happened when she was being ripped like an animal! She was on her way to pick her younger sister up from school and that was when Shah Hussain, who happened to be her classmate came with a knife to kill her and stabbed the young lady 23 times! She somehow survived the stabs and now she has deep wounds all over the body, leaving some lifelong scars!
Khadija is an aspiring lawyer who is fighting for the right of common people and wants to eradicate the power of might who has money! She fought the battle for two years in court with the son of the senior lawyer. She had hopes when Supreme Court gave the culprit a punishment of 7 years and later reduced the punishment to 5 years. But this year after the culprit appealed to the SC, the appeal was accepted and Shah Hussain was acquitted, all the hopes shattered! It was then when the internet and people all over it realized how bad our judicial system could be.
Khadija still is fearless!
Even after all the eyewitnesses, the deep scars and stitches on her body and medical reports were not enough to prove the crime that SC let go of the criminal to roam around!

3rd May 2016 – Attempt to murder on Khadija Siddiqi (vicious knife attack – victim sustained 23 brutal life-threatening wounds)
29th July 2017 – Trial Court convicted Shah Hussain for 7 years in an attempt to murder.
30th March 2018 – Sessions court reduces the sentence to 5 years.
4th June 2018 – LAHORE HIGH COURT orders full acquittal – Butcher Shah Hussain released and allowed to walk the streets freely.
SUPREME COURT – will the SC allow convicts and monsters like Shah Hussain to walk the streets and let another barbaric and ruthless attack take place?
The justice system has failed the society. Her rigorous fight for justice has not ended. The journey for Khadija Siddiqi’s fight for justice has just begun.

It is beautiful to know that within 4 days after the culprit was acquitted, Chief Justice of Pakistan took notice of the incident and another hearing has been scheduled on 10th of June! This was all possible because people who are influential used their power to raise voice for her and everyone along that joined in! There wasn’t a single human who didn’t raise their voice for Khadija. Because it’s not justice Khadija but for every girl who could have been at her place. One of the influential people on the internet Yasra Rizvi used her power of unabashed poetry and wrote a powerful piece for her!
