Pakistani women have been making their mark in the STEM field nationally and internationally. Moreover, they are bridging the gender gap in tech quite rapidly. Aqsa Kausar is a great example of such talented, smart and hardworking women that have made immense contributions in the field of science. She is the first female Google Developer Expert in Machine Learning of Pakistan.
In case you are not familiar with Machine Learning then in its essence, it is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that helps system applications to use data at their disposal to automatically learn and improve the experience without having to be explicitly programmed. Furthermore, it is currently the ‘IT’ skill to have and Aqsa Kausar is definitely a guru; considering her numerous contributions in this field.

Aqsa has arranged various workshops in several events, like Google DevFest 2018 and Google Cloud Next Extended 2019; both conducted in Islamabad. Furthermore, she also participated in Google’s Machine Learning Train-The-Trainer session held in Singapore recently.
Moreover, this exceptionally talented lady also dabbles in writing in her spare time. She writes on Machine Learning for a renown online publication –Medium. Aqsa made a name for herself at quite a young age by contributing a lot in the field of Machine Learning.
She is a graduate of NUST in Electrical Engineering and secured a CGPA of 3.79. This isn’t all of her achievements; she is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer for a software company, Red Buffer.
Speaking to Techjuice about her experience at Red Buffer, she said, “Being a part of Red Buffer has helped me immensely in my journey to becoming a GDE. Red Buffer has some of the best talents in Machine Learning & AI including some amazing tech-savvy women. Our CEO Tayyab Tariq has always been highly supportive and encouraging in my GDE journey, often saying “it’s not about you, it’s about how you use what you have to help others.”
Moreover, she highlighted the potential this youth has especially women including the promising future this field offers. Aqsa added, “I believe more women should step forward and make use of this amazing opportunity offered by Google, not just for their personal growth and networking, but also to widen the culture of knowledge sharing in Pakistan and to build communities of value.”
The program Google offers is the Google Developer Expert Program which is globally recognized by the company to acknowledge and recognize talented individuals across the world. Additionally, one becomes a Developer Expert if they are well-versed with one or two Google technologies.
Aqsa Kausar is a prodigy that has brought glory to Pakistan and to all women in tech and otherwise. May she continue to grow and succeed in her field.
