Usually, we, as an independent state forget the importance of liberty. We take this freedom for granted but Defense Day is the day which reminds us of the brave military soldiers and security agencies who spend their days and nights on the border so that we could be protected. Defense Day is one of the five national days of Pakistan we Pakistanis celebrate. It is the day when our national armed forces fought for the protection of the dear homeland. The enemy attacked the regions of Lahore, Sialkot, and dessert of Sindh on 6th September 1965 to invade the attacked areas. The war lasted till 22nd September 1965 after both the countries accepted the UN-administered ceasefire.
In the memory of martyred soldiers, Pakistanis celebrate Defense Day every year with great zeal. With traditional enthusiasm, people across the country commemorate Defense Day. The day starts with the special prayers for the prosperity of the homeland and ends with the annual ceremony to pay tribute to the martyrs of 1965 at GHQ Rawalpindi. Including political leaders, state officials, military people, the children celebrated Defense Day with the spirit of patriotism.
Here are some of the cutest pictures of the children of Islamabad’s private school who paid tribute to the countrymen at the nearest shopping mall.
