The most beautiful thing that could ever happen to a married couple is to be blessed with the news of expecting a child. Entering parenthood can be a joyous and an emotional ride for both the mother and father. However, for a mother, pregnancy is truly an amazing and glorious thing to experience. Carrying a human life inside the womb for nine whole months is no less than a miracle!

Pregnancy might bring a fair share of its ups and downs which could be terrifying for some and beautiful for some, but, as long as you have a loving and understanding husband, the tough time shall pass by with ease and comfort as long as your husband is right there, by your side taking care of you and the baby.

Daddies-to-be, according to Islam, it is important to understand that pregnancy is a time of exhaustion and weakness. Hence, carelessness from your end would be harmful to the growing baby, for which you would be held responsible in both this world and in the world Hereafter.

As described in the Holy Quran, where Allah, (SWT) says:

“His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship” ( Surah al Luqmaan 31:14)

1. Offer extra moral and physical support to your wife. Be kind to her

2. Help her with chores as her energy will tend to drain out faster than usual

3. Refrain from exerting further stress on her by becoming angry and silent on trivial matters.

4. If your wife is working and on duty, be extra supportive and call her to check after few intervals

5. Take care of her nutrition and provide her essential food that is needed

Some men fail to realize the pain a woman goes through when bringing a child into this life and choose to neglect their wives during this time and the most common thing to be heard is, “You’re not the one who will be delivering a child”. Isn’t it? Well, daddies-to-be, it’s time to shower her with extra care and love. She needs you… because you’re soon to witness the most beautiful moment ever! Insha’Allah.

“Allah does not want to place you in difficulty, but He wants to purify you, and to complete His favour on you that you may be thankful”.  (Al-Maa’idah 5:6).
