Razzaq is one of the ninety names of Allah which means Provider or Sustainer. It is no doubt that Almighty Allah has arranged the food for its creation so that they can survive without any difficulty. But after providing the immense quantity of food, He has restricted us to eat which He allows. It is stated in the Holy Quran that,

And eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers. – Surah Mai’da, verse 88.

It has been seen that Muslims who are living in their villages or known cities for ages find no difficulty in eating halaal food. Finding the food which Islam allows or what is haraam is a difficult task for those who have migrated to other countries. Here we have listed a few things which Almighty Allah has forbidden us to eat.

Here Are Some Things That You Can’t Eat According To Islam

1. Allah Has Forbidden Muslims To Eat Carcass

It was said: Allah’s Messenger, you see that the fat of the carcass is used for coating the boats and varnishing the hides and people use it for lighting purposes, whereupon he said: No, it is forbidden, Then Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said: May Allah the Exalted and Majestic destroy the Jews; when Allah forbade the use of fat of the carcass for them, they melted it, and then sold it and made use of its price (received from it). – Sahih Muslim Book 22, Hadith 87

2. The Flesh of Swine

It is said in the Quran that,

He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. – Surah Baqarah, verse 73

3. Animals That Are Not Slaughtered In The Name Of Allah

It is said in the Quran that,

And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associators [of others with Him]. – Surah An’am, verse 121

4. Donkey Meat

Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah: On the day of Khaibar, Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) forbade the eating of donkey meat and allowed the eating of horse meat. – Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 259

5. Al-Jallalah

It was narrated from ‘Amr bin Shu’aib, from his father, from his father Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr – or on one occasion he said: from his father, form his grandfather – the on the Day of Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah forbade the flesh of domesticated donkeys and of al-Jallalah (animals that eat dung), and (he forbade) riding them and eating their mat.” – Sunan an-Nasa’i Book 43, Hadith 87

6. Animals That Must Be Slaughtered In Islam

Aishah narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: “Five are Fawasiq which may be killed in the Haram: the mouse, the scorpion, the crow, the kite, and the barbed dog.” – Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 9, Hadith 30
