When it comes to Pakistanis speaking on #MeToo movement, there is rooted misogyny and misconceptions that come in the way. In 2018, Meesha Shafi shared her stance on the #MeToo movement which involved the claims she made on the behavior of Ali Zafar. While it took her great courage to even did what she did, she had to face a lot of criticism, where people attacked her being fame-hungry or just attacking on Ali Zafar out of some rivalry.
During that time, co-starts and other members of the entertainment industry were questioned regarding their views and not many stood by Meesha Shafi, to be fair. On the other hand, celebrities vouched for Ali Zafar and his behavior off and on set, saying that he is a family man and other cliched stuff.
Conclusively, no body cares about the #MeToo movement here and the following example is the biggest to begin with.
Legendary Pakistani Actor Javed Sheikh Believes #MeToo Is Used to Gain Fame!
In a post shared by Images on Cinema in 2019, Javed Sheikh shared his unusual take on the #MeToo movement. He believes people (read women) use this movement to gain fame in addition to how we can never know what the accused did because well…there is no proof. He further says that “A lot of women get #MeToo done on themselves” like does this man ACTUALLY believe women wish to be harassed?
Here’s the Actual Quote from Javed Sheikh On this
I Mean Its the Same Guy Who Tried to Kiss Mahira Khan, Remember?
Pakistanis, Rightly So, Were Not Happy While Reading the Bizarre Take on the Movement

Sounds About Right
Honestly I've hated Javed Sheikh vehemently for the past decade or so, so hearing this kind of conceited stuff from him doesn't really surprise me.
Also this is the guy who plays the pervy old dude in every film. Life imitating art?

"Metoo movement has given rise to alot of stories for the sake of fame only,Alot of women get Metoo done on themselves"
Javed sheikh's stance on #MeToo is worse than his mediocre acting skills. It only reflects how shady his own character is.Who knows what's hiding in his closet!— Ayesha (@achayaarbas) January 4, 2019
It is indeed despicable to see what a senior actor thinks and feel about the women present in the entertainment industry. Finding allies in the opposite gender does not seem possible, despite their level of seniority.
Appreciation here for Osman Khalid Butt for always speaking up the way he does. We indeed need more men like him around us.
So what do you think about Javed Sheikh’s words?
