This is for curvy girls (like me), how many times have you been body shamed? How many times have people degraded your body, even if it’s for the sake of humor? How many times have you faced awkwardness when people laughed at you and you have to smile to hide your insecurity?
Some of you might find this relatable. Remember, you’re not alone in this struggle. I have been through it and still trying to recover. Let me tell you about my journey.
I was so offended by the comparison, I decided then to give up on one of the things that I love the most. FOOD. The only way I could stop the criticism was this. Later on realizing how wrong the act was, I decided to change my lifestyle. Giving up coke is harder than getting over from someone, trust me. But I did what I had to do. I was consistent with the diet plan. Some days passed on and I didn’t lose weight to the extent I was planning. I was lacking with one thing, the exercise. I searched some workouts, tried to do it at home. Obviously, at first it was difficult, but it just got better with the time.
Later, I joined the gym. It’s been just 3 weeks and I have lost 4 kgs. It feels like an achievement, right? After all these months I realized happiness is not about size. And I wasted far too many years believing that it was. Now I’m not going to stop letting people know that they deserve happiness exactly as they are. They deserve to live now!! That level of obsession and self-hatred could never be healthy, no matter how it looks.
However, we can take the positivity out if anything even body shaming. It helped me to change my lifestyle completely. I was more focused on being healthy than being slim. Now I am more strong, capable, healthy, energized, vibrant and alive!!
So to every person reading this: I hope you get your freedom too, however it might look. I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
