Muneeba Ali is the name that everyone’s praising all over social media. Why? Muneeba became the first woman to score a century in T20I for Pakistan and only the sixth to score one in a T20 World Cup.

Muneeba Ali left-handed batsman opener for Pakistan thrashed Ireland bowlers last night with unbelievable innings and outnumbered them.

After losing a close match against India, Pakistan women’s team stepped onto the ground with more hunger to win the match and follow the victory road.

In the match, Muneeba was the main center of attention which hooked everyone to their seats and entertained the crowd.

Looking at the previous stats, Muneeba has played 44 international T20 matches and couldn’t even score a half-century, although she had scored a one-day international hundred against the same opponents in Lahore last November.

Muneeba was lucky enough, as she was dropped on 45, just one of several errors in a disappointing Irish fielding performance. She even surpassed the 75 made by Nida Dar in 2019.

After the historic performance Muneeba said, “I was very confident when I got out there. When I made a start in the powerplay I thought it would be my day and I could make it count,” she said.

“Then I had a partnership with Nida and she was always telling me to keep going and score big.

She further said, “So from the 12th or 13th over I felt I could make a hundred, and she pushed me. I was playing with my feet and trying to understand where they were trying to bowl and make a plan where I could find a boundary,” Muneeba continued.

“I want to dedicate my (Player of the Match) award to my captain (Bismah Maroof) and my teammates. We had a bad game (against India) and we fight a lot, but everyone is happy today.”

Pakistan women’s cricket team performing brilliantly since 2022, players have been praised internationally and even Sana Fatima won the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer Of The Year award last year.
