Harassment claims need to be taken seriously and given how women in our country have finally started speaking, we need to support them to an extent to find out the truth. This time, a news from a Pakistani radio channel has surfaced. An employee of Samaa FM has come out and stated how she was subjected to harassment at the radio channel.
The RJ of broadcast show called Lagao With Tehreem, Tehreem Muneeba has now left Samaa FM because of harassment claims. Her show used to air daily from 5 pm to 8 pm on the FM 107.4
The RJ Shared the Entire Scenario on Twitter Through a Number of Tweets
“I resigned from
#SamaaFM yesterday. Couldn’t be a part of an organization anymore where women aren’t respected and everyone is protecting the culprits.”
Discrimination and Harassment at the very places that raise issues about the problems themselves. Poor management and unqualified personnel heading departments. Evidence tampering, blame game and waste of time. Miserable victim. This is #SamaaTV #SamaaFM #MeToo

I'm not presenting my programs for #SamaaFM because discrimination, harassment, slander and poor management. #SamaaTV #Radio #FM #OnAir #MeToo

And She Continued Describing All the Events
It doesn't have to be a rural setting to be harassed. In modern-day, organisations such as big media houses like #Samaa itself – one suffers and still feels embarrassed because complaints call for more suffering.#SamaaTV #SamaaFm #Media #Victim

The RJ Also Stated that the Proof Was Deleted
Now comes the point – how can she proof her claims when they removed all the evidence?
The evidence which was the CCTV footage happens to be deleted immediately after the incident. How convenient. I was #harassed in the studio! Sab milgaye. How sad! But wasn't this expected? I mean what is this place, #Utopia? #SamaaFM #WomenWillNeverBeRespected #MeToo

This is the Point We Need to Think About
If I, being a TV face and having a radio presence had to face this, socho baqi larkiyan kya face karti hongi. Kya woh esay he shikwa karsakti hongi? Awaz utha sakti hongi? Koi unki sunta? Hamare han toh victim he pissta hai jab tak mar na jaye. #harassment #SAMAAFM

Point to Ponder
We wait for murders, suicides and killings to unite. Because being harassed isn't enough. #Harassment #Nainsafi #AnamTanoli #Zainab #SamaaFM #DeniedJustice

Let’s Hope Tehreem Gets the Justice She Deserves
I refresh my email account every day hoping that maybe today #SamaaFM will send me an inquiry report and tell me they at least suspended the culprits. But no! They have more music and less respect for the issue at hand. #Harassment #CulpritsRoamingFree #Collusion #Corruption

I've been a voluntary tax filer and a law abiding citizen. I expect my government to safeguard my rights & help me when I was harassed & wronged at #SamaaFM. I had to protect my honour, I had to resign. Yahan koi #corporate policy hai bhi?

Harassment claims need to be taken seriously because no woman wants to be dragged in mud in a country where this gender is never given the rights it deserves. Let’s hope Tehreem gets the justice she deserves and the matter resolves in a proper manner.
