This Private Cab Driver Attempted To Kidnap A Girl In Karachi And It is Absolutely Terrifying

Unlike old times now traveling within the city has become now pretty cheap and comfortable. Just because of these transport network companies, Uber and Careem’s launch in Pakistan was nothing less than a blessing to the commoners. It’s affordable and a luxury in comparison to the yellow taxis and rickshaws for that matter. But there have been times when this same blessing has turn out to be a nightmare.

This year solely, many people have been reported these cab companies about the misconduct of their drivers. But this girl’s incident almost shook everyone. She reported the company through email and later put the screenshots of it on her Facebook profile, where she shared the horrifying details of what actually happened, amidst the crowded place of Karachi!

This is what she said;

“Dear all thank you for your support.I have received an official letter of support from Careem; The Careem Captain Mohammad Tayyab having phone number of 0333 2129072; he driving Go Silver Category car registration number BFB 385, is not working with Careem anymore; so the warning post is only referential to people who if have the misfortune of booking him as a cab driver. Unfortunately the service company should have a loop closing solution where criminals are bought to justice; I guess it will take time for our society to evolve to that level. I suffered a kidnapping attempt from this man when I booked his ride on 24th Sep’18 at 8:00 pm. He was trying to take me to a deserted road of Korangi creek and refused to stop I had to pull the hand break physically from back seat at intersection of Khayaban-i-Ittehad and Korangi Creek road. That distracted him enough for me to get out of his car from back door by kicking the door and stand out at the intersecting roads. He than parked the car and physically tried to get me back in the car by pulling me in and started yelling that he as if he was my father and I was a runaway under influence, so that people passing by would think it’s a family matter and wouldn’t interfere. He kicked my bags and I physically resisted and kept on waving to the cars passing by till a car stopped to help me, he then started pretending that he was yelling and kicking because I hadn’t paid him his fare. I gave him the money in front of everyone and reached home. I was lucky that I am strong enough that I could fight a man on physical level for around 15 minutes. I got some bruises however I was safe but many women aren’t that strong physically or mentally. I reported the case to Careem and now I have a letter saying that he is no longer working with them. Seems like safety of women is important when it hits social media. My family is in process of Filing an FIR.All of the women out there please be careful; spread this post as much as you can in Karachi. This post is not to gain sympathy but to create awareness please spread it as much as you can #

Careem # Nazlee Nizami”

She was being kidnapped and the guy even tried to push her back in the car! This is crazy

She had bruises after the fight, which clearly shows how she had to fight, to run away

The screenshot of the driver’s details she shared on her profile showed the guy to be decent; but what could be said by seeing a person

She also wrote that after writing to Careem she never got any response back. And there is still no update from her side upon if Careem really did something about the matter or not! Maybe it’s high time for them to respond back to such cases IMMEDIATELY, so they don’t lose credibility.
