Life is unexpected; one minute you might be having the best time of your life…the other minute, a heartbreaking news may tear everything down. When Fatima Ali talks about her life-turning illness, she explains it in a similar way.
The former Top Chef contestant and a chef in NYC was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma one year ago. While Fatima Ali continued fighting her battle with a warrior spirit, she continued setting an example of hope for everyone in the same ship as her, until recently.
Fatima Ali Shared How her Life Recently Has Been About Spending Time in Hospitals More Than Living in her Apartment
“I’ve spent more time in sterile hospital rooms in the past year than I have in my own apartment. This has become my new home, and the staff a part of my family. I wonder if I’ll accidentally call my nurse “Mom” when she sneaks in to check my vital signs in the middle of the night.”
On the other hand, Fatima Ali always made sure that she kept her followers and her well-wishers updated on social media. She shared the frequent updates, visits to the hospital and news about her life on social media. However, since the new year embarked, Fatima Ali went completely silent and just recently she shared a new post.
“I know it’s been ages since I posted and most may have figured out why. I’m sick and unfortunately I’m getting sicker. Right now all I need are prayers; prayers that are simple. I hope, because a wish is putting on too much responsibility on the other, that you will somehow find forgiveness in your big heart for whenever I must have hurt you.
I thank you a million times over for when you have given me joy. I’ll try to keep everyone updated the best that I possibly can.”
