A few incidents from the past couple of months have become the reason for people to boycott these tourist spots especially Murree. Be it shopkeepers, owners of guest houses or restaurants, or the mafia, the unethical behavior of these people are exploiting the beauty of Murree. The tourists have to park their car in specific ‘adda’, there is no such thing like bargaining exists in Murree, with family or without family – a woman can’t safely roam around the streets of the city, the rise in such incidents forced the local families to boycott Murree. The Government of Pakistan looked into the matter and deployed Dolphin Force in Murree but it seems that nothing has changed!
Yesterday, another incident has been reported on Sunday after hotel agents bothered a tourist couple. According to a local media news channel, the hotel agents catcalled a woman who was walking with her husband on the roads of Murree. When the husband intervened and refrained the agents for their inappropriate behavior, the verbal fight broke out and the agents pushed him back.
It can be seen in the video that the traffic wardens and bystanders were present at the spot, the in-charge of the bazaar’s local checkpoint refused to initiate any action against the hotel agents. Even when the family went to the nearest police station for complaint, the GPO Police refuse to lodge the FIR against the hotel agents.

However, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident and assigned IG Punjab to submit the report regarding the incident as soon as possible. The FIR has been registered too after the CM’s notice.

With the help of video, the culprits have been identified and will soon be attained, SHO Murree Police told media. If the whole administration has become a mafia, it will definitely affect the tourism industry. We can hope that the local government would take positive preventive measures after this incident.
