This video is about how women tolerate domestic violence and how they can elude from the torment that they face on a quotidian.

We have tried to put together a video in favor of these women, this video has been produced, directed, and written by Mariya Khan and Muhammad Atif. Along with the actors who’ve put their heart and soul in acting for the video, Hafsa Habib plays the woman who faces domestic violence while Nihaal Rahim plays the abusive husband.

We chose to make a short video on domestic violence because it’s a perennial issue and effects the society is an extremely negative way. It is a right of every human to live, to breathe and to do what they want. Then why are women treated so badly? Why can’t they speak for their right? Why are they always silenced? Why are they abused psychologically, physically, emotionally and sexually?

1 in 3 women has been a victim of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime. An estimated 5000 women are killed each year from domestic violence. On an average 20 people are physically abused per minute. The problem in our society is that women are told to conceal their bruises and hide their tears just for the sake of maintaining a soulless relationship.

Rather than being told to speak up, defend themselves and ending or changing the soulless relationship. The video aims to empower women to speak up for their right to live happily and to also show men how a woman feels going through domestic violence. The main motto of our video is, “There’s more to life than pain, free yourself, breathe, cause it’s your right.”

We are all 17 years old and this is our first attempt so we really hope that this video creates awareness and even if the video helps one person our purpose would be fulfilled.
