The political atmosphere in Pakistan always stoops low, especially when it comes to the arch rivalry between the parties and their members. The political fanatics will go to extreme lengths to make sure they do everything it takes to push the party members down.
A few days ago, Maryam Nawaz picked up on Imran Khan and talked about his daughter to a news reporter. Well, that wasn’t the first time a politician has done something like this – dragging the personal lives in the public sphere.
The tables, however, have turned.

She did look pretty, one needs to acknowledge that.
When a woman is called “taxi”, it is regarded as a derogatory claim. The word “taxi” when being referred to a woman hints that she is a prostitute.

Long Ago, Former Prime Minister and Maryam Nawaz’s Father Nawaz Sharif Called Benazir Bhutto “Taxi” in the Assembly
This wasn’t the only time Nawaz Sharif called Benazir Bhutto a “taxi” – he continued picking up on Bhutto, seeing how it hurt her. Nawaz Sharif played dirty politics – he even released fake nude images of Bhutto and made sure nobody voted for her. Nonetheless, in every speech he would make, he addressed Bhutto as “taxi” only to pick on her and stoop low.

When Maryam Nawaz’s pictures in yellow dress were shared on the internet, they make sure to give Nawaz Sharif a taste of his own medicine.
Everybody started calling out on her – calling her a “taxi”.
When Benazir Bhutto once wore a Yellow dress, NawazSharif addressed her in the National Assembly in a very derogatory manner by calling her as a YELLOW TAXI, (Gashti) after that his Chamchay started calling her Yellow Cab.

Well, two wrongs definitely don’t make things right, but this is how the norm has been established in the political world. A daughter must not be punished for the words her father used to address another woman, but this really is how it works in our society now.
