Sexual harassment stories have been whirling around Pakistan’s media industry. From controversies to blame games, a lot of celebrities have stepped out of their comfort zones and spoken about their incidents and fears.
Recently, our very own celebrity, Hania Amir who is going around K-Town promoting her upcoming film ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon‘ shared a harassment incident that happened with her during her promotions. She tweeted her incident, sharing how a group of men harassed her during the promotions of her film, disguised as her fans.
This is what she tweeted,
Are these men even human?!
Being a public figure does not mean that we are public property and meant to be harassed by men disguised as fans. How can one call themself "a fan"; if they reciprocate our love with rewarding us embarrassment, discomfort and psychological trauma. (1/ 5)

We are speechless!
Anyone in her place would be angry as she is because nobody deserves this! It’s sad how people think they have the authority to harass other people. Harassment stories are heart wrenching and such eye-openers as they depict the cruel reality of our society. It is sad that we live in this society where all of this is so common, be it young girls or even animals for that matter are sexually harassed.
Moreover, one cannot ignore the psychological trauma that people go through for years after such experiences. Also, it not only destroys one’s self-esteem but also shatters the amount of confidence that one has.
Today, even though Pakistan is on the road to progress but it is failing as a nation because of such incidents that happen every other day. Women are scared to step out of their houses because of these men. Only if they just start respecting women as they respect their own mothers and sisters, as said by Hania in her Tweet,
“Respect all women as you’d expect the women of your own households to be respected”
Well, we applaud Hania for coming out and speaking about it!
