It happened today; I had to visit Zeenat Lab with my mother in Allama Iqbal town where she had to run a few tests that the doctor had recommended. After entering the lab, I saw a couple sitting and waiting for something. We went to the counter and waited for our turn with the prescription.

A young lady was at the management there, multitasking at a time. She was handling people who came to get their reports and was dealing with the people who wanted to get the tests done. She was asking for tests, getting the amount and returning the change. My mom and I were watching her doing several tasks and waiting for our turn so we could get the tests done.

A man came and asked for a change of his Rs. 50 note. The lady collected 250 rupees and gave it to the couple who was waiting there but the man rejected to take it and started shouting at the lady. “What the hell do you think of yourself? You made me wait for this 250 rupees? Right now I’m with my wife or I would tell you the consequences to make me wait. I belong to a respectable family and people like you! What do you think of yourself? Wait, I’ll not take this money back, I’m going to drop my wife at home then I will come back again and show you what I am. I will take you out on the path and make you apologize me in front of everyone!”

His wife was standing quiet and watched the lady get insulted in front of all the people who were present there. Let me tell you that the lady in the management was trembling, she was trying to apologize for no reason. Tears were in her eyes as she was getting insulted by a barbarian man. Before shouting, the man immediately took a picture of that lady from his camera and said, “This picture will go on Facebook and everywhere and I will tell you what’s the result of making me wait and insulting me”.

I was watching all of this and wished to stop that man. But how could’ve I stopped him? He was all insane shouting and threatening that young lady wearing a green mask on her face. I was not there for taking sides. But what I was thinking was that let’s suppose the lady was wrong, then is this how you treat a lady??? He could’ve filed a complaint with the administration or some senior there. The way he treated her was totally wrong!

He went out in fury and the lady was unable to do her work which she was trying to continue. I don’t know what happened next because I left the place. While I was on my way, I kept thinking about that man. What is he going to do with that picture? And what he will say on the media? What about that young lady? Because I think she was not their working happily with her own will. It’s the bread and butter which make us bear all the insults. I don’t know whether that man came back or not, but he left everyone disturbed there.

This is how everyone is using media nowadays. With the positive use and awareness role, people are misusing it as well. May ALLAH give guidance to us all and save us from all the negativity and hot-headed people.
