Pakistan has many talented women like Muniba Mazari, Shazia Parveen, Fiza Farhan, Namira Saleem and many more. These renowned personalities have left no stone unturned in making us proud. One more inspirational woman is added to this list of prominent personalities. She is the very first woman who is appointed as ASP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, DR. Anoosh Masood.
Having the MBBS degree, Dr. Anoosh Masood decided to join police because she wanted to serve people. She did her MBBS from Fatima Jinnah Medical College and won a gold medal. Other than this, she also participated in academic activities. Also, she was the youngest participant at SAARC International Conference of Dermatology 2008.
When she was asked that why did she choose PSP. She answered:
PSP provides a platform to explore new dimensions of life which otherwise, in case of the woman, is hard to be explored. PSP gives a woman great opportunity to deal with difficult situations, which she encounters in her professional life.
Dr. Anoosh was among the four female ASPs to have been recruited in the PSPs in 40th CTP. A total of 16 female officers were enlisted in PSP till the 40th CTP that completed training last year.
Many police officers appreciated her. Mohammad Ali Gandapur, the district police officer Abbottabad said, “Dr. Anoosh did not join the police on quota but it was her first choice as she wanted to be in the police force”. The women police stations in KPK are insignificant, but Government is struggling to maintain these stations.
Dr. Anoosh Masood further added, “Women are more dedicated and being a PSP officer is more like an administrative job, which is why I preferred it over medicine”. Dr. Anoosh Masood is making a lot of effort in maintaining the peace in society, and we are looking forward to her struggles.
