It’s not always your high grades that make you stand out of thousands, sometimes it’s about your creative mind. Pakistan has seen a lot of fathers who said, “Son, we are proud of you” but today let us tell you about a girl. Someone who has also grown up in the streets of Karachi is achieving it all, making her father proud.

A girl who dreamt of becoming a writer at the age of 9, a little lady who had the love for novels, who was a great admirer of Charles Dickens never knew will come this far. She wrote the very first story inspired by her favorite writer at age of 11 that even got published in Young World (DAWN)

When she reached 18, the dream of becoming a writer still stayed with her. To prove her skills she found a place known as freelancing, after a huge search she got to know about clients and companies that offered work to her, day by day the level of work went up and the sun shined brighter every other morning.

While studying the Bachelor’s in Business Administration, her ideas changed towards the world. She mingled the plan of becoming a writer into a business which led her to this road that she started her own team and is working with a team called “Penwoman Association”. The girl we are talking about is known as Marium (Entrepreneur of Penwoman Association)

This association is a start up that is giving a platform to people especially women to “Pick Your Pen, Write and Earn”.

According to this Entrepreneur,

“Being a girl and a writer I have always found an urge of earning in people of Pakistan. Hence I started this journey and laid the foundation of Penwoman Association. Along with it, our training sessions will let people know about career development through freelancing. We will teach them the basics of Writing and will also work on their verbal communication”

Not only this, the major increase in unemployment has led her to the decision of starting Training Sessions. She will now be giving training sessions on “Communication” and “Writing Skills”. This is for all those graduates who are sitting at homes and are unable to find any job for oneself. Penwoman will provide them the knowledge of career development by improving their English communication and becoming a freelancer. The Karachi based sessions will be starting soon but the online sessions have already been started.

“I feel that English Communication is the biggest gap which needs to be filled, the universities do not train you well on your speaking skills rather they make you clear the courses and provide you a degree which doesn’t revert with a penny after graduation and the question of getting failed at every interview remains. But for this we have started the training sessions, they are more for those graduates who are jobless, sitting at homes. Lots of Institutes are here to teach grammar but none works on verbal communication so our Communication Sessions will help them tap better opportunities in the market as this will increase their chances of getting employed or at least by taking the Basic Writing Skills sessions they can be guided on becoming a freelancer. So those unable to find the jobs, why not freelance?”

Pakistani society, for sure, needs that sort of people. Kudos to you girl!
