A plea has been lodged with the Lahore High Court opposing the scheduled Aurat March in March. Submitted by advocate Rana Sikandar on behalf of citizen Azam Butt, the petitioner is apprehensive that the women’s march might disturb peace and order. It is argued that the placards and banners exhibited during the Aurat March are regarded as unsuitable in Islamic society. The petition names the Lahore deputy commissioner and others as respondents, contending that while women’s rights are safeguarded by the Constitution, endorsing the Aurat March is viewed as ethically questionable.

Highlighting the availability of legal options, individuals who sense a jeopardy to their fundamental rights can seek redress. Despite constitutional provisions protecting women’s rights and endeavors to enhance their welfare, the petition calls for an end to what it perceives as the unethical promotion of the Aurat March, an annual sociopolitical event held in various Pakistani cities on International Women’s Day.
