1. Raja Bazaar
Raja Bazaar is one of the oldest bazaar of this city. This bazaar has almost everything that you can imagine, from electronics to flavorful food items, from local jewelry shops to garments, Raja Bazaar is a must-visit place.
2. Lake View Park
Lake View Park is located near the famous Rawal Lake – an artificial reservoir that provides water to the twin cities. Before the park, people went to see the Rawal Dam’s spillings from a bridge on the Park road. Due to security issues, the area has been closed and the park was situated so that people would enjoy the view. Lake View Park has become a popular attraction for the visitors as the place offers boating, calm atmosphere and to see the number of migratory birds.
3. GHQ Rawalpindi
Pakistan’s Military General Headquarters is located in Rawalpindi too!
4. Fatima Jinnah Women’s University
One of the oldest and largest women’s educational institute, Fatima Jinnah Women University is located in Rawalpindi as well.
5. Pindi Food Street
It’s not just Lahore and Karachi that are famous for their food streets, Rawalpindi has its own too! The pedestrian food street is located in Saddar – a perfect famous for foodies!
6. Rohtas Fort
Rawalpindi has much more for the history lovers too. Sher Shah Suri built this strong and fortified Rohtas Fort in the north side of that which is in Pakistan now. Rohtas Fort is also known as Qila Rohtas. It is an exceptional example of early Muslim military architecture in South Asia.
7. How Could We Forget Rawalpindi Express!
Rawalpindi Express – Shoaib Akhtar is a Pindi Boy too! He is listed among the fast bowlers of the world!
8. Poonch House
The 150-year-old Poonch House standing in the heart of Saddar on Adam Jee Road, Rawalpindi. Poonch House has served as a rest house for kings and princes, an office and home for prime ministers of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and even housed military courts.
