KA-BOOM!! This would surely trigger a lot of men out there, but I think we’re clear on this now. There have been many claims that show the type of women men are interested in and are not interested in. We’ve read a lot about the interests, but now is the time to learn about why men are terrified of smarter women. Well, just recently, science has actually proved it. Yes, men are terrified of smarter women.

A recent study was carried out by Lora E. Park, Ariana F. Young, and Paul W. Eastwick. The study was published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. According to a survey, 86% of men said that they are comfortable dating women who are smarter than them but when the time comes, they feel threatened. Yes, not many would actually admit the fact, but research says it all.

Here’s how they were tested according to the  paper:

When men expected to interact with a woman who was spatially distant (e.g., in another room), they expressed greater desire to interact with her when she outperformed versus underperformed them [in intelligence]…

However, when men interacted with a real woman who was spatially near (e.g., in a face-to-face interaction), men showed less romantic interest and desire to interact with her when she outperformed versus underperformed them.

Dayumm, son….

However, these researchers still want to conduct further research and experimentation. However, they do believe that, “feelings of diminished masculinity accounted for men’s decreased attraction toward women who outperformed them.” 

Well, apart from being terrified of smarter women, what other qualities of a woman, terrifies men? I guess, we’ll just have to wait and find out after a few more research and experimentation. Alright, so this does NOT mean that we’re generalizing and this certainly does not go for all the men out there. So, yeah, chill. 😛
