KARACHI: During a cabinet meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah made several important choices, such as procuring 1,000 pink electric bikes for women.
The provincial government also agreed to buy double-decker buses and electric vehicles (EVs) for the city. They also agreed to improve Keejhar Lake right away and build the KB Feeder to supply water for the K-IV project.
On Thursday, the cabinet met at CM House. Provincial ministers, advisors, special assistants, the Chief Secretary, and the appropriate secretaries were all there.
Electric Pink Bikes For Women
The cabinet was told that the Transport and Sindh Mass Transit Authority (T&MTD) is going to start a program to make it easier for women to get around by using environmentally friendly transportation.
Through this effort, women will have access to about 1,000 electric motorcycles. We will distribute the bikes through an open and honest voting process.

For the project to happen, Rs 300 million must be found outside of the budget. The cabinet said that more and more women around the world are choosing electric bikes as their main way to get to work every day.

This demand is mostly caused by the fact that they allow for more mobility, are cheaper than cars or public transportation, are better for the environment, and require little upkeep.
These bikes make it easier for women to get around and be independent. They also break gender stereotypes, help women get ahead financially, and make people safer and more secure.
Electric Vehicles
The cabinet agreed that the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) would buy the electric motorcycles by bidding against one or more manufacturers, based on factors like price and upkeep.
The distribution will happen in a clear, open voting process with the media present, as long as the applicants meet the requirements, which include living in Sindh permanently. The person applying must be a female student or worker. For seven years, the application can’t sell the electric bike.
Double-Decker Buses
The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) informed the government that it plans to purchase 50 public buses for Karachi. There will be 35 electric buses and 15 double-decker buses. The transport department plans to run 15 double-decker buses on Shahrah-e-Faisal. The plan was cleared, and Rs 3 billion was set aside for the project.
The buses would go to different parts of the city on different paths.
