Sindh Hires First Female Firefighters in Rescue 1122

For the first time in Pakistan, women have been hired as firefighters. Sindh Rescue 1122 has recruited 72 female firefighters.

Dr. Abid, Director General of Sindh Rescue 1122, said these women are well-trained to handle fire emergencies in Karachi. They can also rescue people from drowning incidents in the sea and canals.

These women come from various parts of rural Sindh and received their training in Punjab. One of the new female firefighters said, “We are fully equipped and trained to handle any fire emergencies.”
