I have seen families where family members are fighting over useless issues. I really, really wonder being a Muslim, offering prayers, believing in Allah, why do we backbite against our own relatives? I really don’t understand how can a person bow before Allah in Salah after creating so much mess in family relationships. Just how? Hasn’t the Allah said that the blood relationships are important and a person who ends up the relationship with his relatives will not enter the paradise? When we offer prayers, we constantly say ‘Allah sb sy bara hai, Allah sb say bara ha’ ~ Allah Akbar, then why we involve in so much nonsense.

Once there was a time when I used to have lots of fights with my husband. Allah guided me to the right path and I started praying to Allah to give me tolerance and I listen to my husband. Now, I don’t involve in unnecessary arguments and fights with my husband simply because I have to bow before Allah. How can I say ‘Allah sb sy bara hai’, and do not leave my matters upon Him?

My father and his eldest brother do not meet, do not greet each other. They go to the same Masjid and offer 4 or 5 times prayer in the same Masjid. I really feel sad. I think, I ponder, I reflect just why? When we say ‘Allah sb sy bara hai’, why can’t we believe that He is the greatest? Will Allah listen to their concerns? We are no one to judge because Allah knows all.

Being a Muslim, we should be the ones who strengthen relationships. Yet most families have issues with their relatives. I can recall a story from my childhood about our Prophet (PBUH). There was a lady who used to throw trash on him and one day when the lady did not throw trash on him, he instead went to her to ask her if everything is alright.

Can someone imagine, the level of love and respect for humanity we have been taught in our religion, and then compare our own actions towards others?
