This Couple Broke The Biggest Stereotype Of Spending Millions On Wedding And Loved It

We have a culture in Pakistan, where the term “big day” is actually a BIG day for the couple but ahah, not just for them, it becomes the big day for parents for cousins, khala, phuphoo, mamu, son-in-law of chacha and dadi of chachi! You must be wondering how? Well, Pakistani weddings are like loaded fries. We try to put everything that could possibly fit in, and there should be no empty space (always remember that). Hence, it becomes a big fat wedding, otherwise “yeh bhi koi shadi hue?” “Bilkul maza nae aya”

But this couple broke the biggest stereotype of all time!

They choose to do it the simpler way. They faced a lot hurdles from parents and so many phuphos got naraz. But of well!

They managed to do it in the most simplest manner with minimum people

“With my mother and friends like family♥️ Alhamdullilah..
A few months a go, I was faced with the event of a marriage ceremony. My parents and my relatives wanted it to be a typical pakistani wedding, with almost 300 to 400 people. I had decided against it. I decided to make it as simple as possible for everyones sake. After alot of arguments and fights, my family finally decided to go ahead with simplicity. Our relatives as always were pissed of at us, and decided not be a part of it. We consulted an Aalim as well, to which he said the simpler the wedding the better, so that boosted our morale. Our wedding was very small and simple, with 25 people in total, held at my home, and a very minimalistic menu of two dishes . I wore the same dress my mother did 33 years ago, my friend did my makeup at home and at the end, the wedding costs came down to a very minimal amount.

Back then the decision that seemed so tough, now is a matter of pride for me. My husband and I are self-made people and decided not to be a burden on our parents. The money would be better off donated to poor people, and also my parents could save that amount for themselves. I don’t expect them to work hard all their lives and spend a major chunk of their savings on just one night. My relatives are still quite distant from us, and not that pleased, but we have no regrets, I would not change anything if I had the chance to!”

They even asked an Alim; about their choice of marriage and he gave them a thumbs up!

Isn’t it great that way? No hassle of getting a thousand dresses and shoes, no fuss over 200 dishes. Just one event with all the important people and that’s it!
