Standing like a shadow as still as one can be,

She looks up at the sky cause she knows she’s all alone,

The moonlight spread as far as she could see,

The night was cold and chilled her to the bone.

She had no one cause somehow they all left,

Leaving her with no one but the stars in the night,

Laughing with them at those victims of theft,

Trying to forget that she still had to fight.

She had nothing left, nothing they could take away,

Her emotions were as empty as the state of her heart,

She could no longer be a victim to their dismay,

They had enjoyed tearing her apart.

She was happy neither was she sad,

They had robbed her of all emotion,

She had been good, she hadn’t been bad,

This was the end she was done.

Step by step she learned to smile through the pain,

Not letting the other know it was there,

As she felt the sky cry with her, she danced in the rain,

As they pulled her into their evil lair.

They pulled at the strings of her heart,

Disabling it to sing,

They added more parts of her to their cart,

Proud of their new bling.

Help, she cried, pleading them to stop,

When were they going to have enough,

When would they tell her to go away,

Or should she call their bluff?

Help, she screamed, just stop your game,

I feel like I’ve been caged,

I can’t think straight, I don’t know my name,

Tell me have I even aged?

They laughed harder, tearing at her flesh,

Oh, they weren’t done yet,

Who cares if she may even turn to mesh,

What they want is what they’ll get.

She screamed at the walls, her echo booming,

Enough to shake a soul,

But she was an object, she had no feeling,

She was in a black hole.

That’s it, I’m done, they will never let me go,

I have to get away,

Whether I’m alive or dead they’ll never know,

I’ll kill myself today.

She found the rope they beat her with,

And tied the knot she learned at camp,

Looping it through the hole in the roof,

She felt her forehead; damp.

She jumped from the broken desk,

She was ready to die,

Her feet two feet above the ground,

She said her final goodbye.

But not to them, no they couldn’t know,

She waved at the night,

Soon she’d be there, among the stars,

And she’d be just as bright.
