Here’s How The Parental Rule In Our Society Has A Major Affect On Children

Obeying an order without putting it under criticism or evaluating the dictator is common not only in the military but in the eastern culture as well. The deadliest of all sins is to question the order of your elder. The younger generation is expected to obey every single order without discovering the ‘ why ‘ part. While the elder generation is believed to have the superiority in intellect because of their age and experience.

Let us take into account the logic of that. The intellect of a decision or advice is normally scrutinized under the experience and knowledge of the speaker in the relevant field. The relevancy is the most important factor of all. If a 70 years old Entomologist teaches you the philosophy of theoretical mathematics it would be smarter to criticize that knowledge under various aspects.

Critical thinking teaches to question every piece of knowledge to meet a reasonable and logical solution. Evaluating the source of the knowledge has the first priority in criticizing any advice or knowledge. On the other hand, the eastern culture dictates not to evaluate the elders and especially the father. The common mantra among brown people is ‘The father knows all’.

Not only the age but the mere fact that he has given his childbirth and feeds him gives the father monopoly over intellect. The child gets never old enough to question the order and whenever he sums up the courage to do so he is baffled by the old mantra ‘I am your father. You are not mine’

The mere fact of being a father grants you all the intellect and decision power in the world. Religion grants the parents a solid position as well. You are supposed to obey them unless some order goes against the religion. When religion itself is hit only when it legalizes the rebellion, otherwise, you have to keep your parent’s content no matter what. Even the acquisition of heaven, highest of all the prizes, is promised in exchange for the selfless care of the parents. The decision to get married and engage sexually to give birth to a human being gives them the right to design his or her life and of course the monopoly over knowledge.

The faith in their decision is another aspect of this cultural philosophy. No one has ever spoken against the love of a parent for his own child. There might be some examples here and there, but mostly a parent naturally loves his or her child. The essence of this is often used in the advocacy for the dictatorship of a parent. How could they think badly for you when they are your parents and naturally love you? A little confusion here is that the harm comes not only with the intent, but the ignorance as well.

If a parent thinks badly of an institute and doesn’t let his or her child enroll there with the intent to preserve the child from harm. But then the knowledge is revealed to be incorrect about the particular institute. In this case, the harm did not come with the intent, but by the ignorance. However, the solution to this problem seems improbable as the mere questioning of the decision is considered as a sin. This dictatorship has been running in eastern veins for long. It has found a peaceful abode in their minds and shapes their children’s minds as well.

The imposing of the figure of a father not only suppresses the critical and logical thinking but the decision power as well. When the retaliation seems improbable the desire for revenge takes birth and when the direct revenge seems a remote possibility then the child bursts as a parent. The children tend to perform same as their parents. (This phenomenon is often found in the lives of the serial killers)

This problem isn’t an acute disease, but rather a chronic inherited disorder. The ancestors of the eastern culture were infested by this pest and the generations have passed this disease since. The population in the east has always increased its growth rate every year. As the population increases, so does this problem. The absence of logic, critical thinking, philosophy, and reason prove the existence of the famine of our minds while the harvest of faith is in its golden days.
