When a girl comes into this world, her mother starts to save because one day, she has to say her goodbye and start a new life with her husband. So, following the societal norms, my mother, too, did the same and around 20 days back and I got married to a person whom my mother found was best for me.

We, girls, have our own world, our own questions and answers, our own ideal characters and in short, every girl grows up with this fact that one day, she has to get married whether or not she wants to or not. And, by the virtue of this fact, she starts planning, characterizing many things in her mind. On the other hand, men have always been considered as the symbol of power and dominating unit in this relation (marriage). So, girls start making their mind in the same way and most of the time, they have a fear of getting married or they don’t want to spend under somebody else’s proposed directions.

But I want to let such girls know who get negative vibes from the thought of marriage and husband that, all five fingers are not the same. Don’t be scared of getting married, or being under the direction of a man who is your life partner and who will be able to complete your Deen. Yes, this is also true that we have faced and experienced many bad men in our lives and we just don’t want to think about spending the rest of our life with a man anymore. But life is all about blessings! So, being married is also a blessing and “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear…” (Qur’an, 2:286).

Yes, getting married is a tough period of a girl’s life because her entire way of lifestyle gets changed. But remember, in a house where everyone else seems strange, this one man will speak to you before you could. Even if the luxuries are limited, there will be this one man who would happily give you his part of it. If you ever feel that your friends gave up on you after you got married, this one guy would become your best friend. If you are away from your family and you can’t hold onto tears, there will be a man who would lend his shoulder.

If you are ever scared of dying, you’ll know there’s one person who is more scared of you dying than you are. If you miss your ammi calling out your name all day, don’t worry, this man will call your name out more than you can count in a single day. If you ever feel ill, this man would get you medicine in the middle of the night. If you feel you don’t have a person who would keep your secrets and bury your negatives away, look beside you, the man is right there. If there’s someone after your parents who can’t see you in pain, it will be your husband. If there’s someone who would do things against his will, just to make you happy, it’s your husband.

So getting married to Mr. Right is really a blessing and I wish all the girls to be blessed soon! And, a very good luck to all the newly married couples. May you have a pleasant life ahead! Ameen.
