There is marriage – a lifetime of chaos (perfect in its own way) that requires investment, mutual respect, love and most of all work! 2018 was the year of jaw-dropping and beautifully crafted celebrity weddings.
From the opulent Prince Harry and Meghan’s matrimonial saga to Sonam Kapoor’s wedding, to finally #Aineeb, #Niyanka and, #DeepVeer weddings,(I’ve lost track of the hashtags) we couldn’t have had a bigger dose of the awwws and oohs this year. It has all been about the venues, the receptions, the sangeet parties, the way ‘they look at each other’ to millions of pounds worth gorgeous wedding gowns to drool over.
Couple goals and happily ever afters are determined just after seeing seemingly perfect wedding pictures only. Younger unmarried girls may almost start believing that the only pedestal to measure happiness is to see how lavish a wedding was. But this is not how it ends. Happily ever after is a story in itself. It isn’t based on how ‘Zohair Murad’ or ‘Sabyasachi’ the outfit is, how cool the ‘pre-wedding party’ is or how ‘Lake Como’ the venue is.
Marriage is a lifetime of finding happiness when two imperfect people make their own dream in an orderly chaos. It is to love someone at the times when you are struggling to like them.
Goals should not be the best wedding day with the grandest setting ever but rather the best days together in the life that starts after! Make the most of your story – making it worth a lifetime rather than just a few days of festivities.
When you will look back it won’t be about how perfect everything was but rather the chaotic comedies which you two laughed helplessly together at that moment and even years later. After all, there is more fun in fuss-free simplicity, imperfection and the comic relief moments that make us human and make us connect more!
